Sovereign, Holy Character of God

“For the word of the Lord is 𝐮𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, and all his work is done in 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬. He loves 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝗼𝐮𝐬 and 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞; the earth is full of the 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝗼𝐯𝐞 of the Lord. By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host. He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap; he puts the deeps in storehouses.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭33:4-7

Today we get a reminder of the sovereign and holy character of God and His Word. He is upright, faithful, just, and full of steadfast love. Not only that, but He is all these things, He is Sovereign over ALL events and creation. Praise him!

𝐔𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 - He is holy and blameless
𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐟𝐮𝐥 - He is faithful to accomplish the plan he has for us (psalm 138:8)
𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 - because He is holy and blameless, his faithful plans are completely justified
𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝗼𝐯𝐞 - praise Him that is love is steadfast and not temporary! As John MacArthur says, “if we had the ability to lose our salvation, we would...” it is only by his grace and love that He is forgiving as we continually mess up.

Verses 6-7
Simply put, amazing reminder that God is in complete sovereign control and because of the characteristics mentioned, we can have absolute confidence and assurance in His sovereign plan. Not only is He in control of the things we see, but the things we don’t see too!

Praise God for his character and love and sovereignty of all things!
